I once heard a pastor talk about the rainbow, that at the time of Noach, there was no need for rain (maybe a bit like all was Rainforest?) And that because of man’s transgressions, god came to keep an eye (literally) on mankind as a presence in water: “The Rainbow”.

Not sure if that’s true of course, but it’s a nice thought.
